The new, expanded Sydney Peace Foundation Council

THE SYDNEY PEACE FOUNDATION ENJOYS THE SUPPORT OF QUALIFIED PROFESSIONALS WHO VOLUNTEER THEIR TIME AND EXPERTISE TO HELP US SUPPORT GLOBAL LEADERS FOR PEACE AND JUSTICE.

The Sydney Peace Foundation welcomes new members to our Executive Council, many joining us within the past two years. Our new and longer-term members bring with them a wealth of knowledge and experience from a variety of diverse backgrounds, and we are excited to benefit from their insights and leadership as we continue to advance our mission for peace with justice.

Our most recent appointments include Amnesty International Australia’s current head of philanthropy, Mr. Mohamed Duar, and barrister, Dr. Emma Dunlop.

“We are thrilled to welcome Mohamed and Emma to the Executive Council, their expertise and insights will be invaluable over the coming years as we expand our programs and build a more sustainable Foundation,” Melanie Morrison, Director

With the appointment of a new leadership team in May 2023, the Foundation has expanded its program offering. Co-Chairs Joy Kyriacou and Felix Eldridge bring with them strong government relations and strategic communications expertise.

More recently Dr Jane Fulton has stepped on to the Council as our inaugural Director of Philanthropy. Jane has a long association with the Sydney Peace Foundation since its inception in 1998, most recently as Co-Director alongside Melanie Morrison. Her years of expertise and sheer hard work have been integral to our continued success.

Alongside these new additions, the Sydney Peace Foundation continues to benefit from the knowledge, expertise, and diversity of perspective of longer-term council members: Ms Melanie Morrison (Director), Mr Stephen Lancken (Deputy-Chair), Dr Susan Banki, Ms Susan Biggs, Ms Bridget Cama, Ms Patricia Garcia AO, Mr Alistair Gee, Mr Ahmet Orhan Polat and Mr Ken Woo.

Each brings with them a variety of unique experiences, from governance and stakeholder engagement to humanitarian and peacebuilding work.
