Octavianus Mote: West Papua and Human Rights

Octovianus Mote will be speaking with us about contemporary human rights issues in West Papua. He is travelling in the region to attend the Melanesian Spearhead Group meeting in Papua New Guinea. Mr. Mote is former bureau chief of Kompas, one of the leading Indonesian daily newspapers. He has held fellowships at Yale University and Cornell University. As a member of the West Papua Action Team, an advocacy organization based in the United States, Mr. Mote has helped shape policy in the U.S. Government and at the United Nations on the issue of West Papua.
