Support the Sydney Peace Foundation

The Sydney Peace Foundation, founded in 1998, promotes peace, justice and nonviolence by recognising the world’s most important leaders for peace with the Sydney Peace Prize, Australia’s only international prize for peace.

In June 2025, the Sydney Peace Foundation became an independent legal entity after 27 years as a foundation of the University of Sydney. As a new, not-for-profit, we look forward to strengthening existing initiatives and developing new programs together with a broader coalition of academic, government and civil society organisations, and our honoured and greatly valued coalition of individual supporters.

As a new entity, we are excited to announcement that we now have a new fundraising platform and fundraising partner. Please consider a tax-deductible donation to help us grow our impact for peace, justice and inclusion.

If you would prefer to donate directly to our bank, please email .

Peace is possible

In the face of major global issues such as climate change, inequality and racism, we need to elevate powerful solutions to address economic, social and environmental injustice. For the past 27 years, the Sydney Peace Foundation’s core remit is to provide sustainable solutions to global injustice.

Join us

Award the Annual Sydney Peace Prize, Australia’s only international prize for peace. The Prize elevates leading global voices that promote peace, justice and nonviolence, and honours the inspiring people at the heart of these stories. For over two decades, Sydney Peace Prize recipients have shown us how to share our planet peacefully, justly and sustainably.

Present the Gold Medal for Human Rights to recognise achievements in the promotion of peace with justice. The Gold Medal for Human Rights is a formal recognition and prestigious acknowledgement of an individual’s tireless commitment to human rights.

School Outreach. Every year, Sydney Peace Prize recipients meet thousands of students from schools all over Sydney at Cabramatta High School Peace Day. It allows students to learn about the vital contributions recipients have made to peace and justice and gives Laureates an opportunity to hear the voices of Australian youth.

University and Civil Society Collaborations through internships, student outreach and research.

Seminars and conversations on peace and non-violent solutions to conflict throughout the year.

Book and report publications including compilations of the Sydney Peace Prize Lectures
