Volunteers

Each year, we mobilise a team of volunteers to assist at two major Sydney Peace Prize events in November – the Award Ceremony and Lecture and Gala Dinner. We are always on the look out for generous individuals who are passionate change makers, keen to make a difference and gain some real-world experience.

We require general assistance as well as in areas of production, event management, artist liason and more. We would love you to be part of it. You are welcome to sign up for the Lecture, Gala Dinner, or both! Email to show your interest.

Volunteer opportunities and internships

We rely on the great work of interns and volunteers. Being part of the Foundation’s team as a volunteer or intern is a great way to develop your skills and expertise and be a part of a tight-knit community passionate about peace and justice.

You will be an important member of a small and committed team that delivers our annual Sydney Peace Prize program and associated events. Plus, you will have the opportunity to attend the Sydney Peace Prize events and take a look behind the scenes.

We are currently recruiting for a number of volunteer opportunities / internships. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, please apply as soon as possible. If you feel your skill-set spans elements of different positions please do not hesitate to get in touch, we would love to hear from you!

Events and Marketing assistant

We are accepting applications for two interns or volunteers to join our small team to assist with the organisation of the 2018 Sydney Peace Prize events.

You will help us reach thousands of Sydney-siders in the lead up to the Sydney Peace Prize events, and be an integral part of our small organising team. This is an opportunity to get substantial experience with organising and coordinating events, marketing, and communications. You will have considerable autonomy but work as part of a supportive and tight-knit team.

You should be available 1-2 days per week, with 2-3 days per week during October and in the lead up to the events in the second week of November. This role is unpaid, but provides free entry to all the events.

Communications assistant

We are looking for a motivated and creative communications volunteer or intern to write print, web and social media content to encourage the Sydney community to make nominations, market the November Peace Prize events, and raise awareness about this year’s Peace Prize recipient and his/her work.

This this is a great opportunity to get hands-on experience, be involved in projects from start to finish, and see the results of your work which you can use for your own portfolio.

Experience with iMovie or Final Cut Pro highly regarded!

Grants Researcher

We are looking for a passionate and motivated grant researcher to assist us with our fundraising efforts!

You would be responsible for seeking grants and raising support from foundations, corporations, and government sources requiring proposals for both unrestricted operating revenue and restricted projects.
