Conversations with Naomi Klein: To Change Everything We Need Everyone

November 9, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 8:55 pm

In a panel moderated by Lenore Taylor, Naomi Klein, Murrawah Johnson, Maria Tiimon Chi-Fang, Nadine Flood and Shen Narayanasamy will discuss the need for transition to a post-carbon Australia.

Together we will find a way to transition away from fossil fuels, towards a more equitable, just Australia that is based on caring for each other and the planet.

Sometimes it is easy to forget that every day, people across the world are already feeling the impacts of the climate crisis. Science puts us on an unyielding deadline: this is the crucial decade to get our act together.

Hear the courageous and inspiring stories from Murrawah Johnson about the Wangan and Jagalingou people’s struggle to stop Adani from opening Australia’s biggest coal mine in history, and Maria Tiimon Chi-Fang who is seeing her beloved Kiribati disappear below the sea level.

Doors open at 18.30 for 19.00 start.
